A detailed digital survey of the Alibag town revealed space to plant about 2000 native tree species - of sapling height 7-8 ft - in locations such as municipal school yards, road-sides, beach-sides, cremation ground, gravesite, government office premises etc. Most significantly, a phyto-capping exercise was conducted int he municipal dumping ground.
